"now you know - it's not Europe"

Postby Loopus » Wed Dec 15, 2010 10:13 pm

The fact that Jamie thinks in terms of kilometers rather than miles suggests, but does not prove, that it's not the USA either. Still, I guess Canada.

I don't think I would've clear'd the scorpion question:
1) I don't assume everyone to have a car
2) Ellen seems to be setting the limits as "you may take one item from this room and nothing else", not "you may take one item from this room and whatever you may find useful outside this room"

I think I would have allowed "Can I borrow your car keys" as an answer even if I didn't have a car - it shows serious consideration of the question at hand and lateral thinking ability.

As it happens, we shall see the car in question with Monday's strip - you may judge its battle-worthiness then.

I really would have been utterly lost with the direction question - I have little to no sense of the Earth's size and specific distances.

If you wanted to ask me how far we are from, say, Mars, I might be a bit better at it.
This strip really made me wish that Google Maps had a "locus" function, by the way. "Give me a circle with radius fifteen thousand kilometers, centered on the Louvre."
Neither a creeper nor a jackass be; if you manage these two things, everything else should work itself out.

Alright, Merle, I'm curious. How far are we from Mars?

Not how far is the orbit of Earth from the orbit of Mars, mind you. How far is the planet Earth from the planet Mars right now?

I believe that was supposed to be a test of estimation, not research ability.
