Sufficiently described characters

Postby Tailsteak » Wed Dec 22, 2010 3:09 pm

Back in 1/0, there was a plotline in which the characters and I debated over the required detail a fictional character had to have to be considered a "character". This was of greater significance for them than it would be for us, as they necessarily had to consider fictional characters to be people.

I think that, with today's strip, Ellen and Jamie have officially passed that threshold.

It would be pretty funny if they were crushed by an anvil next strip.

Hm. Looks like a compact sedan. Not my first pick for giant-scorpion fighting, but I suppose it would be difficult to find a Crown Vic on short notice. :)

Love Panel 4.

That car is clearly recognizable as such, and the scenery at least exists, which puts you well in the lead of many webcomics.

(Not that I'm suggesting that being in the lead of, say, EvilPepsi177's Comic Of Terror should necessarily be considered an accomplishment.)

The captcha should be a touring test with any member of the forum. That way, we get better touring bots.
Particularly considerign that so much of morality is emotional based 'not to hurt people' 'don't be mean' 'build community' 'listen' 'be humble', a logical answer doesn't present itself, the problems exist in an emotional framework.

When I first created this board, there was a setting that prevented newly registered users from posting until a mod approved of their first three posts. At the time, it was a major annoyance, and I removed it.

I think I put the setting back in, but evidently, it's not actually taking effect. I really have to do more research about this damn forum software...
