On the same note why do use humans or drones at all? Why don't make the next logical step and go full virtual, turn it into a videogame or do it like that Star Trek TOS episode ("a taste of armageddon") where they fought war with computers, There would be a lot less problems and probably would be a lot cheaper.

Probably same reason Zoa literally walks the fucking streets and isn't delivered by a self driving car.

Doctor Who had an episode like that as well.

Also, the story "Bladerunner" . Not the movie, that was based on a different story called "Do Andriods Dream of Electric Sheep". In Bladerunner, WW3 was played out as a simulation with real world consequences. Whenever the controlling computers decide that a city has been hit, that city is walled off and its people left to their own resources. So a "bladerunner" was someone who smuggled scalpels, and other medical supplies into one of these "dead" cities.

Wikipedia has an article on "The Bladerunner" which is about black market medical care for people who refuse to comply with a eugenics program, with no mention of WW3. That's the closest I could find to what you described. Is there another "Bladerunner"?
This may be the last account I made with this deprecated pseudonym, and it looks like it may become the last I use once a certain flash game site finishes dying. A lot has happened since 2012.

Hey wait has anyone noticed the asterisk in Caleb's dialogue? What the heck is that supposed to mean?

I think it's just a voiceless exclamation like a choking noise.

Thanks.

Anyway. Caleb is supposedly very concerned about hurting the feelings of physically weaker people. They've made several overtures of friendship towards Lee that Lee eventually admitted weren't entirely wanted. And now Lee has revealed that this entire time, Lee was complying out of a sense that Caleb was a killer of humans.

Does Caleb take a second to think that maybe Lee was intimidated around said killer of humans? No. Caleb is a bit of a dick.

Speculation: Caleb didn't get those muscles and parkour skills in the army. He had them before. Using them aggressively got him into trouble. The army could use his aggression against enemy drones and made him an offer he couldn't refuse. The mods are for exactly what you say, focus and precision and so on. The disability is RSI in his wrists, that he says they already had to replace once.

We've seen that Caleb stutters under stress. Speculation: The "*" represents some sort of nudge from an implant to clear the stutter.
