Yeah, I'm playing on Gift of the Magi. I figure Jamie and Ellen are gonna be okay together, in the long run.

The key, I think, the thing that will determine if their relationship succeeds, is whether or not they have reasonable expectations for each other. Ellen has to understand and accept that Jamie is not going to become not-Jamie, and Jamie has to understand and accept that Ellen is not going to become not-Ellen. I'm pretty sure they've got that sorted.

Y'know, in general, I don't advise people to hook up with their roommates. The rule Ellen established in the beginning is a good one. I do think this was the only way these two were going to hook up, though - Ellen would never have come to know and love and trust Jamie if she had held him at arms' length, and Jamie would never have had the fortitude to ask Ellen out like a normal person would.

Ellen looks good with that shorter hair, don't you think?
