One of the very many things I like about the modern dissolution of traditional gender roles is that it's no longer weird or "forward" for a woman to pursue a man romantically. Men don't always have to initiate, women don't always have to be passive. I, for one, like being pursued... and I think Max is right, that is the right way to deal with Jamie.

MH: Alright, now most advice articles in... well, heck, most of Western culture will tell you that a woman's job is to flirt and hint and entice him to pursue you, but trust me - with a guy like Jamie, you're going to have to be a lot more proactive. I recommend you get up in his lap...

NP: Well, I happened to mention that my period was a few days late, and the next thing I knew, he was down on one knee making an engagement ring out of two twist-ties and a dead LED. It was simultaneously the most and least romantic thing I had ever seen.

NP: I handcuffed him to the couch for a week and a half until he agreed to take me to dinner and a movie.
