People who willingly identify as "normal" and consider the adjective to be a badge of honour are rare and getting rarer, I think. I chalk it up to two factors: pop culture that idolizes distinctive lone wolf hero protagonists, and a decreasing stigma on minority signifiers like race or sexuality.

0654-------------------------------------
(Wednesday afternoon, INT: EB and JH's kitchen.)
JH: I sense that you are mad at me. For a reason.
EB: Jamie, I just... I'm concerned, okay?
JH: Concerned that I'm out there purchasing PCP.
EB: Yes. Yes, that is the sort of thing that would concern me.
--------------
JH: Given what you know about me, you honestly think that I would intentionally purchase and consume phencyclidine with my body.
EB: People who take drugs lie about it. That's a thing.
JH: Granted. That is a thing.
--------------
EB: I don't know. I'm being an idiot, aren't I?
GU: You... are acting kinda weird, to be honest.
EB: Well, I'm only acting weird because Jamie is acting weird.
JH: So we're all acting weird together. That's good, right?
--------------
GU: I... I don't think I'm all that weird.
JH: Which, in this setting, puts you in a one-third minority, which makes you weird.
