I think it says a lot about Jamie and Ellen's relationship at this point in the comic that Jamie can say something like "hey, I'm gonna go masturbate" and Ellen just rolls with it. He's not being a creepy pervert, he's just being Jamie, solving problems with his Jamie perspective, exactly like stripping down to his underwear to change a tire. He's certainly got a point, it's not good to make major life decisions when you're all worked up. A good mental reboot works wonders, and cranking one out is as good a reboot as any.
Looks like they may have to wait, though.

EB: Sooooo.... no power, no distractions... we should talk. About us.
JH: Agreed. But I think you should have a shower and I should have a... a nap first.
EB: What, do I smell bad?
JH: Well, no, but if we're being completely honest, I'm too horny to trust myself to make good decisions right now vis-à-vis... us. I kinda think we should both rub one out before we discuss anything.

EB: That's not really how that works for me.
JH: Well, you don't have to have a shower, but I'm having a nap. And changing clothes.
EB: Hey, I didn't say it wasn't a good idea. Believe me, whether or not we have any hot water, I'm headed straight for the shower as soon as I get through this door.
