Contest!
Okay, Soupheads - we're running a little art contest. Post your submissions, whatever they are, to this thread (or, if you're too shy to make a forum account, email'em to me, and I'll post'em here). Deadline is the end of 2012, at which point I shall select a third, a second, and a first place winner.
All three get a signed copy of my book, "Bang". The first place winner gets a cameo in the comic!
(Cameo appearance may be of you, someone else you select, or any fictional character to which you have the rights. If the fictional character selected is setting-inappropriate, they may appear in a poster, or on a T-shirt. This cameo is a walk-on only. I do not guarantee any lines, alteration of the plot, or interaction with the main characters. You will be linked and credited appropriately.)
There are three possible ways you can enter this contest!
1) Draw Jaehab.
Gina's description of her half-elf rogue was pretty thorough. Make an image - any kind of image - of Jaehab, and post it in this thread.
Possible extra credit -
-include the other members of the party
-include Gina, or other members of the gaming group
-make your submission something somehow more impressive than a simple image (such as a 3D render, an animation, a comic, or yourself cosplaying!)
2) Voice-act Ellen's description of her tiefling warlock.
The current donation incentive features Ellen describing her tiefling warlock character in a... vocally unique manner. Record yourself doing your best Ellen impression!
Possible extra credit -
-include the rest of the dialogue and sound effects in the comic, not just Ellen's voice
-make not only an audio recording, but a video of some sort
3) Fanfiction.
Two damn years I've been running this comic, and I've yet to see any real fanfiction. In this category, your submission can be any length, any subject, but I would prefer it if you kept the setting and characters as close to canon as possible.
Keep in mind, however, that this is the category that will be judged the harshest. The two preceding categories require talent and effort, and the fanfiction category is no exception! If you expect to win with an entry in this category, you better be a writer.
Possible extra credit -
-illustrate or illuminate your fanfiction somehow
-make it conform as closely as possible to the canon and timeline of the comic, both as shown in the comic itself, and in the supplemental information I've leaked elsewhere.
I am accepting NSFW submissions, but if you're contributing anything of that nature, please label it clearly as such and link to it elsewhere, don't just dump it in the thread.
You may submit multiple entries in any and all categories.
As I said, deadline is January 1st. Good luck!
